Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship programs serve as catalysts for change in India's workforce development, providing a bridge between academic learning and real-world application. The apprenticeship program plays a crucial role in developing the nation's future workforce, fosters skill development, and contributes to economic growth.

To promote and regulate apprenticeship programs, the Government of India has introduced various initiatives. Following are some of the schemes introduces by the government of India. Shivaleela foundation is one of the approved and recognized partners for promoting and fostering these apprenticeship programs. For both NAPS and NATS we are eligible to work with companies from all over India.

National Apprenticeship
Training Scheme (NATS)
National Apprenticeship
Promotion Scheme (NAPS)

These are flagship programs initiated by the Government of India to promote apprenticeship training and enhance the employability of youth. The scheme falls under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and is administered by the Directorate General of Training (DGT).

The primary objective of these schemes is to encourage employers to engage apprentices and to provide skill training to a large number of Indian youths. By doing so, the scheme aims to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the skills possessed by the workforce, ultimately fostering a more skilled and employable workforce.

What are the benefits to the companies under the NATS and NAPS scheme?

  1. Financial Incentives: Employers participating in the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) are eligible for financial incentives. These incentives help offset the basic training costs associated with engaging apprentices, making it more attractive for companies to participate.

  2. Cost-Effective Recruitment: Employing apprentices under NATS often proves to be a cost-effective way for companies to meet their manpower requirements. The stipends provided to apprentices are generally lower than regular employee salaries, making it an economical option for companies.

  3. Enhanced Productivity: Apprentices who undergo training under NAPS contribute to the productivity of the company. As they gain practical skills and familiarity with the company's operations, they become valuable assets in meeting business objectives.
